As ministers of hospitality (MOH), ushers welcome and care for each member of the assembly as if that person were Christ. On occasion Ushers have additional responsibilities before, during and after liturgical celebrations and will receive appropriate training to fulfill these duties.

Responsibilities of ushers include:

• Arrive 30 minutes prior to Mass
• Unlock doors and turn lights on
• Greet and seat people
• Gather and secure the collection
• Respond to emergency situations
• Hand out bulletins at the conclusion of Mass
• Be ready to assist the assembly, especially those with special need
• Lock doors and turn lights off
